Sharon Lyon's Bio

Sharon Lyon is an author, geologist, and science educator. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from The College of William and Mary, and a Master of Science degree in geology from The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Ms. Lyon has worked as a paleontologist, a petroleum geologist, an environmental scientist, and a Professor of Physical Sciences (now retired). Her novels Fossil Woman and Fossil Thief are #1 Amazon Best Sellers. Fossil Woman is an IBPA Ben Franklin silver award winner. Her third book, Living Fossil, launched in March 2026 as a #1 Amazon New Release in Hard Science Fiction.
